Several events in both the music and art realm are coming up for me this autumn and winter. December sounds like a long time away, but I know it will be here too quickly. I will try to post separately before each event, but for now I’ll preview just what’s coming up for my Pen Women art group.
The first thing on the calendar is an art exhibit with my Golden Gate/Marin Artists (branch of American Pen Women) group. We have a couple of group shows each year. This one, titled “Spirit of Place”, will be at the Rock Hill Gallery in the Community ongregational Church in Tiburon. The exhibit will be up from Oct 19-Nov 26, 2013, with a Reception from 12:00-2:00 PM on Sunday, October 20. I create the flyers for this art group now, so I can include it here early.
Next event with the Pen Women is a fundraiser at Book Passage in Corte Madera on Nov 2, 2013, from 2:00-4:00 PM. We will provide coffee, tea and cookies. The main attraction, however, will be a presentation by Elaine Petrocelli, the owner, of her latest favorite new books. I’ve been there for one of her book talks before, and it’s well worth while! All proceeds from ticket and book sales will go toward our group’s scholarship fund. Each year we award a $500 scholarship to a young woman graduating from high school and planning to study art in college. A good cause! Below is the flyer for that event.
