12×12 acrylic on stretched canvas
This crazy, psychedelic flower is a poured acrylic painting. The technique I used is called a bottle bottom pour, as the colors are actually poured over the the bottom part of a plastic bottle set on the canvas. Once enough paint had been slowly poured that it reached the edges of my canvas, I used a palette knife to draw lines in and out through the paint to create the marbled effect. Then, just to play up the floral imagery, I added some extra drops of color in the middle.
