22×30 watercolor; 30.5×38 framed
Skin diving is my favorite travel sport. It makes me feel like I’m flying over a very beautiful, alien world. (I don’t use an air tank, just mask and snorkle. Nothing fancy.) I particularly enjoy it when I can identify the beautiful creatures that I’m seeing as I swim along. So, I make a point after each dive of looking up any fish I didn’t recognize, then adding them to my list. For this painting, I chose to only include the tropical fish that I had just seen while snorkeling off the Kona Coast of Hawaii.
