My ABC book, Alphabet Dreams, is finally a reality! And a companion coloring book, too!
Years ago, when my children were toddlers, I painted letter designs for their names. Then friends asked me to create name paintings for their children, too. Eventually I created designs for the entire alphabet, plus some variations. Ms. Grossman’s Paper Company published the letters as stickers. The letters sell on greeting cards in gallery and museum gift shops. And now, finally, the book I dreamed of is here. It’s titled, appropriately enough, Alphabet Dreams, and is a beautiful hardcover ABC picture book. My dear friend and author, Tracy Tandy, wrote verses to accompany the letter illustrations. We have collaborated for years on this project. While we were at it, we also made Alphabet Dreams Coloring Book.
Both the Alphabet Dreams ABC book and Alphabet Dreams Coloring Book make their debut at the Bay Area Book Festival in Berkeley on June 4-5, 2016. Tracy and I will be in the Inevitable Ink booth near the middle of Teen Town (on Milvia between Allston Way and Kittridge). Tracy’s juvenile-adult fantasy book, Dreamhaven, will also be available. We’ll be giving away a free bookmark with each copy of Alphabet Dreams and a free mini-pack of crayons with each coloring book.
Come see us and enjoy a wonderful book extravaganza day! The Festival is free, and there are reasonably-priced tickets for numerous presentations, panels and interviews as well. Find all the details at https://www.baybookfest.org/.
