I recently returned from a marvelous choral tour with the Allan Petker Chorale to St. Petersburg, Tallinn and Stockholm. It was a fabulous trip! There were about 29 singers, plus some non-singing friends and relations. It is such a moving experience to sing for people in other countries and cultures. Our entire repertoire was by American composers, and all pieces were sung a cappella.
I had been a bit nervous about traveling to Russia, given current events there, but there were no problems. I also had expected not to particularly like the Eastern European cuisine, but almost every meal was a delicious treat. This, of course, was not the most important aspect of the trip, but it certainly added to my enjoyment of the whole experience.
My photos are now edited and in an album. I’ll include a few of my favorites in subsequent posts. But first, here’s one of the full choir which was taken by another choir member. That’s me on the far right.
