I am now applying paint to my new watercolor painting of some of the world’s most colorful birds. I spent the first weeks of my convalescence (after a fall) just doing research. Once I regained some energy and inspiration, I started in on countless sketches. Finally, I sketched the composition right onto the stretched Arches cold press watercolor paper that I always use. Actually, some parts of the sketch are still incomplete, and I tend to keep changing small details as I go. Applying the watercolor is a bit daunting, but loads of fun. I’ll post another image soon as the painting progresses.
