20×16 acrylic on gallery-wrapped canvas.
“Memory Tree” exemplifies a different poured acrylic “swipe” technique that I’ve been experimenting with for a commissioned series. The gold highlights really look amazing in good lighting! The forms resemble fans, trees, gingko leaves, fungus, or sea fans. I plan to try more variations in this style, perhaps even larger. That gets tricky, as the larger the canvas, the longer it takes to do the painting and the more time there is for the background paint to dry. But this type of piece must all be done at one sitting while the paint is still wet. It will be a worthwhile challenge.
