4’x8′ watercolor
Tropical Paradise is the largest painting I’ve ever done. It’s 4 feet wide by 8 feet long, and filled with tropical plants, birds and butterflies. It was done as a donation to the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art’s annual fundraiser, “Art by the Inch”. For this innovative event, member artists are asked to contribute a large painting which will then be cut up and sold by the inch. It took me an entire summer to paint, and then I watched as several large chunks were cut out of it for a worthy cause at the fundraiser. While the original painting now contains some major holes and cannot be sold as is, I was careful to have the entire piece recorded digitally in high resolution before it was donated. That means that I am able to use any or all parts of it to create prints, cards, etc.
