The third painting in this new series is of the Spanish Moon Moth, Graellsia isabellae. Like the last two Solo Butterfly watercolors, this one is 2×13, framed to 19×25. The Spanish Moon Moth has an ethereal beauty. Her graceful pale green wings are patterned with black and maroon. Eyespots adorn both top and bottom wings. My watercolor is of a female. The male has even longer tails on the bottom wings, and lovely branched antenna. The Spanish Moon Moth is native to Spain and France. There will be one more in this series – all the same size and framed identically.
