The first fundraiser for Marin Baroque took place on September 8, 2012. It was simply called the Marin Baroque Soiree, and it was in a gorgeous home high atop a hill in Tiburon. The views were unbelievable!
We had a wonderful house full of guests to enjoy the lovely food, wine, and, of course, song. Several of us members of MB sang solos, duets, and one quartet. Lots of different styles of music, too.
I performed Sure on this Shining Night by Samuel Barber, It Had to Be You, and a quartet setting of the hymn, “For the Beauty of the Earth”. Lots of fun!
I’m still doing all the graphics for Marin Baroque, using bits of my own art in the publicity materials. The invitation shown here is an example.
Now we are working on the music for our next big concert, which will be November 17. The concert, titled Amor Sacro – Amor Profano, will feature music by Monteverdi.
