Wings Of California

All the wings in this pastel painting are from butterflies of California. Most of these species are rather small and inconspicuous. It takes a closer look to appreciate their subtle beauty, so I wanted to present a much larger than life-size view. This painting in my “Wings” Series is from the most limited geographical area. Most of these butterflies are ones that I’ve encountered on hikes or in gardens.
